Field Service Engineer

Job description

In this position as Field Service Engineer, you will utilize your technical experience to install and commission our client’s palletizing machinery. This is a very independent role and yet team work and team spirit are crucial for all employees of Verbruggen USA. Their machines are being developed, manufactured and shipped in a way that they can be unloaded from the container, installed mechanically, wired electrically and ultimately commissioned by 1 or 2 FSE’s. Typically, an installation and commissioning project is executed by two field service engineers in 2 weeks. Smaller jobs such as parts of a machine, or upgrades to an existing machine are being handled by 1 FSE individually.

Once these machines have been installed, you will hand them over to the after sales engineer, who will be responsible for service calls, troubleshooting and ad-hoc service visits. As a result, this position provides you with a planned schedule with minimal unexpected itineraries as you will only perform service visits in rare circumstances.

Your passion for high tech machinery and exceeding customers’ expectations and needs will be crucial to your success with Verbruggen Palletizing Solutions. An extensive onboarding program in WA and Europe will supplement your knowledge regarding all aspects of the automated material handling systems within the industrial agricultural industry. Equipped with this knowledge, you will provide customers with expert advice and operator training during installations.

  • 5+ years of service experience in industrial field service role
  • Electrically and mechanically trained
  • Knowledge of control techniques, PLC’s, and HMI’s
  • Understanding of pneumatics and hydraulics
  • Good communication and customer relations skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel 75%
